Journey into the Land of Eyesores
It’s been a while since I contributed something new to the pages (or the webpages) of Rolling Stone, but I had an absolute blast compiling and writing a list of the fifty worst album covers of all time (which served as a counterpoint to their recent list of the hundred best). I wanted this list (unlike some others in this vein) to avoid self-released albums and other found-art artifacts of hobbyist musicians: I loved collecting the absolute faceplants from artists who had tons of resources and failed on a massive scale anyway. Have never felt strongly enough to comment on pieces. Enough so, that I actually looked up the journalist.
What a waste of time that I actually read the whole article on the 50 WORST ALBUM COVERS.
Not only did I disagree with several of his picks but, his descriptions, options and bashing came off as smug.
Sorry. Not a fan.
