Inspired by a long-ago Dave Marsh joke that such a list should include Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m a Rocker.”

You didn’t say the list had to include good songs about chairs, and this Rick Springfield song moved me when I was 14; now, not so much: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EP5tHoKG3t0

are any of the songs on “Songs from the Big Chair” actually about chairs? I guess I will have to give Tears for Fears the Furniture-Related Lyrical Content Appraisal.
Richard and Linda Thompson’s “Jet Plane In A Rocking Chair” is pretty great. ((http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXiQJ1gm9h8) ) Also Nick Cave’s “The Mercy Seat,” which I think is about the electric chair.
