Is the person being addressed in “Hackensack” by Fountains of Wayne (“I see you talkin’ to Christopher Walken”) real or fictional?

The ballad on the Welcome Interstate Managers album is about a high-school crush who’s gone on to larger fame (“We sat together in Period One / Fridays at 8:15 / Now I see your face in the strangest places / Movies and magazines”). “It’s like an updated version of ‘Centerfold,’ a clean version,” said Adam Schlesinger of the Fountains. “Unfortunately, it’s a made-up character. I wasn’t thinking of a real actress at the time, but if we ever do a video, I want to get Amanda Peet–she’s a friend of a friend and she said she’d do it.”
